The Wagner Tuning Ø57mm Charge Pipe Kit is a direct upgrade for the S55 turbocharged engine found in the BMW F87 M2 Competition, F80 M3 and F82/F83 M4. It replaces the factory plastic charge pipes, which are well known for cracking or bursting under increased boost pressure, with a stronger aluminium alternative that also improves airflow.

What the Charge Pipes Do

Charge pipes carry pressurised (boosted) air from the turbochargers to the intercoolers and then on to the engine. On the S55 engine, the OEM pipes are made from plastic and are a common failure point, particularly on tuned cars. A failed charge pipe causes a sudden loss of boost and power, often leaving the car undriveable until repaired.

Wagner Tuning’s replacement pipes are CNC-mandrel formed from aluminium, with a larger 57mm internal diameter and smoother internal transitions. The result is up to 40% less backpressure compared to the standard pipes, which takes strain off the turbochargers and improves throttle response.
