The Wagner Tuning EVO 2 Competition Intercooler Kit is a direct replacement upgrade for a wide range of BMW F-chassis models. Designed to handle higher temperatures and increased boost pressure, it gives your engine cooler, denser charge air for more consistent performance, especially during hard driving or with tuned applications.

Compared to the standard BMW intercooler, the EVO 2 core offers a 68% larger inflow area and roughly 90% more charge air volume. In simple terms: more air flows through it, and it stays cooler for longer. This helps reduce heat soak (when the intercooler becomes saturated and loses efficiency) and maintains stable power output even when pushed.

Engineering and Construction

The EVO 2 core uses a high-quality tube-fin design with internal turbulators, small features inside the tubes that help transfer heat away from the charge air more effectively. The cast aluminium end tanks have been developed using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) flow analysis to keep airflow smooth and minimise pressure loss across the cooler.

Despite the significant increase in size, the unit weighs in at just 8.6 kg, keeping the impact on the front of the car minimal. An anti-corrosion coating with strong heat conduction properties is applied to ensure the intercooler holds up well over years of use.
