The Wagner Tuning Competition EVO1 Gen.2 Intercooler Kit is a direct upgrade for the Audi 80 S2 and RS2, designed to keep intake temperatures under control and help your engine deliver consistent power. By replacing the original intercooler with a larger, more efficient core, this kit reduces heat soak and supports stable performance during spirited driving or track use.

What it does and why it matters

An intercooler cools the compressed air from the turbo before it enters the engine. Cooler air is denser, which means more oxygen for combustion and more reliable power, particularly when the engine is working hard. The original RS2 intercooler can struggle to maintain low intake temperatures under sustained load, which leads to a drop in performance. Wagner Tuning’s redesigned core addresses this directly.

The Competition core measures 500mm x 205mm x 85mm, giving a 10% larger inflow area and around 45% more charge air volume compared to the OEM unit. The tube-fin construction and flow-optimised cast aluminium end tanks help maintain pressure while improving heat transfer.
